Himiway Zebra vs. Rad Rover 6 Plus | Himiway
It can be tempting to spend hours of time researching a new purchase. Comparing similar options, reading reviews, and learning about an industry is often time well spent, particularly if you are new to the service or product. After all, how do you know if you are getting a good deal? Confidence in a purchase is a great feeling because you know you are getting the most value out of your purchase.

This is especially true for something like your first electric bike. E-bikes are everywhere these days, and the options seem endless. An internet search for the best electric bike will yield tons of results, and that can be both a good and bad thing. On the one hand, there are many different options to choose from, but on the other hand, an endless supply of choices can seem overwhelming.

Rad Rover 6 Plus Overview

The Rad Rover 6 Plus replaced the original Rad Rover 5 and is a good overall entrant to the ebike industry. Getting the basics out of the way, we see that the 6 Plus comes with a 750-watt rear hub motor, a 48V 14Ah battery, hydraulic brakes, a Shimano Altus derailleur, and 26” x 4” fat tires. At the time of this article’s publishing, the Rad Rover 6 Plus is selling for $1,999.  All of these components are standard and nothing to be overly excited about at this price point.

The Rad Rover 6 also comes in a Step-Thru option which is a great ebike trick for seniors who may have limited mobility or anyone that struggles with flexibility. Rounding out the features of the 6 Plus is a 25–45-mile range per charge, 275lb. capacity, front and rear lights, and a one-year warranty. The warranty is quite short and may not inspire confidence from buyers who are new to e-bikes.

Himiway Zebra Overview

The Himiway Zebra, in contrast, is an all-new flagship product from Himiway, with countless hours of research and development invested into the design and manufacture of the bike. Named for one of planet Earth’s highest-stamina animals, this bike was truly designed to go the distance. An upgraded 750-watt motor provides high-temperature resistance and strong heat dissipation and is combined with a 48V 20Ah fully integrated battery, which means this bike can travel 60-80 miles per charge with a combination of throttle and pedal-assist.

Hydraulic disc brakes, an upgraded 6061 aluminum frame, 26” x 4” fat tires, and a 400lb. Heavy-duty capacity rounds out the main features, all for the straightforward price of $1,999 with free shipping and a two-year warranty.

At the time of this article, the Zebra also ships with a free rear rack included which is a huge win for customers looking to carry items and bags. One other interesting feature of the Zebra is the derailleur guard, which is perfect for off-road riding. With a Step-Thru e-bike option as well, this bike is a bit more powerful than the Rad Rover 6 Plus and can go almost twice the distance on a single charge. There’s a reason Himiway e-bikes are a fan favorite – the power and distance are impossible to beat.

Other E-bike Considerations

Before we determine the winner in this contest, we should mention a few other points unrelated to the features of the specific bikes. The first is style. The Himiway e-bike has a fully integrated battery giving the entire ride a sleek and modern look and ensuring weather damage is limited. The Rad Rover 6 Plus does not have a fully integrated battery, so you can see it on the outside of the frame, which some riders may not like.

The Himiway battery is one-of-a-kind in the e-bike world. There’s a reason our bikes have such an extended long-range – the big investment we’ve made into our battery technology. Maximum distance per charge, super-fast charging speed, and full integration into the frame for protection is what sets our batteries apart from the rest of the market, especially the Rad Rover 6 Plus. The battery simply cannot be overlooked in any e-bike because it is the life of the machine. It’s what allows riders to hit 7,500 miles, 9,000 miles, even 10,000 miles on their Himiways! Even after 1,000 charges, the battery will maintain 80% of its capacity which is a massive technological jump forward.

The second consideration is the reviews of the bikes themselves. At the time of this article, the RadRover 6 Plus holds a 4.6-star review, according to the manufacturer’s website. The Himiway Zebra on the other hand has over 600 reviews and a 5-star rating. Our reputation is everything in the e-bike world, and we appreciate riders giving such high praise for our products!

Which Bike Is Better: Rad Rover 6 Plus or Himiway Zebra?

Both bikes have the same price, motor power, tire size, and step-thru option, but the final outcome rests on the differences between these two bikes. Due to the whopping 35 miles of additional range, fully integrated battery, higher weight capacity, and twice the length of the warranty, the win easily goes to the Himiway Zebra. We appreciate the Rad Rover 6 Plus for trying and look forward to another contest in the ever-entertaining showdown of e-bike vs. e-bike. We hope you enjoyed our detailed look at these two bikes. Happy riding!
