While you can ride a rigid bike in the city, front suspension is highly recommended for ebikes. Ebikes typically travel at higher speeds (20-28 MPH) than traditional bikes, making impact from potholes, sewer grates, and uneven pavement much harsher. A suspension fork absorbs these shocks, preventing them from transferring to your wrists and shoulders, which significantly improves comfort and safety on daily rides.

On a traditional pedal bike, suspension can absorb some of your pedaling energy. However, on an electric bike with a powerful 750W or 500W motor, this energy loss is negligible. The motor easily compensates for the slight weight addition of the fork. Furthermore, practically all Himiway models come with a lockout feature, allowing you to turn off the suspension when riding on perfectly smooth surfaces.

Modern suspension forks are designed to be low-maintenance. For the coil and air spring forks found on Himiway bikes, basic care involves simply keeping the stanchions (the inner tubes) clean of dirt and debris after rides. They do not require frequent rebuilding like high-performance downhill mountain bike forks. A little wipe-down is usually all that's needed to keep them running smoothly for years.

Yes, Himiway's all-inclusive 2-year manufacturer's warranty covers the frame and major components, including the suspension fork, against manufacturing defects. If your fork fails due to a defect within the warranty period, we will provide a replacement. Note that normal wear and tear isn't covered, but our sturdy components are built to last.
