Take off the wheel so the brake rotor is safely out of the work area and protected from spills.
2. Remove the Brake Pads
Unscrew or unpin the pad retaining pin, slide the brake pads and retention spring out, and store them away from your workstation.

Carefully push the caliper pistons all the way back into their bores using a plastic tire lever or pad spreader.

Working with metal tools, wrenches, and syringes near exposed battery terminals or electrical wiring creates an unnecessary risk of accidental electrical contact.

- Power off the display and e-bike system completely.
- Remove the battery pack, or disconnect the main power connector if appropriate for the bike's design.
- Cover nearby electrical connectors, including throttle, display, and brake cutoff wiring, with a clean shop rag or plastic wrap to protect them from fluid drips.
