Main Features of the Himiway Cobra

Improved Battery Performance

We didn’t become known as long-range e-bike experts by using just any old battery. The batteries in this new lineup, including the Himiway Cobra battery, provide 60 to 80 miles of range on a single charge. This is simply unprecedented battery tech for the e-bike market at this price level. We’ve checked and have seen that the Himiway battery technology will outlast the competition on any ride.

The main component of an e-bike to consider is how far you typically ride, how often you want to recharge your bike, and how much quality you are willing to pay for. In our experience, the battery is one area you will not want to cut corners on. A great battery will make all the difference in your e-bike experience. This battery will maintain 80% of its original capacity even after 1,000 charges. If you are looking for green technology on your travels, you’ve found it.

Upgraded Motor

Our old motors were good. And our new motors are even better. The Cobra shares the new upgraded motor found in the Himiway Big Dog as well as the Himiway Zebra.

This new geared hub motor uses the latest version of an inner ring which is designed to withstand high temperature and provide excellent heat dissipation. This is turn gives the motor a longer life. And a motor is not a cheap or easy replacement to make in any e-bike, so if ease of ownership is what you are looking for, the Cobra has you covered. The geared hub provides great torque while traveling up steep hills or accelerating quickly. This motor clocks in at 1000 watts of peak power.

Softtail Suspension with Four-Bar Linkage

Himiway isn’t just known for long-range battery performance, but also for superior comfort during your ride. To achieve that, the Cobra uses a softail suspension system which has the front fork suspension as well as a mid-suspension. This gives you a soft and comfortable experience during even the most extreme of terrains.

Updated Brakes

The Himiway Cobra comes equipped with a hydraulic braking system. This is compared to more traditional mechanical disc brakes which come standard on other bikes. The advantages of hydraulic brakes are a longer life with less maintenance needed and shorter stopping distance for improved safety in traffic or on trails which gives more control to the rider.

Wider Tires

Wider tires have been used on the Cobra to really boost the traction and grip. Our other models have fat tires clocking in at 4 inches wide, but we wanted to do something special for the Cobra. To make that happen, we’ve introduced the fattest tires in the electric bike market measuring 4.8 inches wide to give you the most comfortable ride yet.

Differences between the Himiway Cobra and the Himiway Cruiser

Since you’ve now read our review of the Himiway Cobra, let’s see what makes the Himiway Cobra different than the Himiway Cruiser.

The Cruiser is hands down a great and affordably priced e-bike, but the Cobra has a few upgraded specs and features and therefore comes with a higher price tag.

One of the coolest updates we made to the Cobra compared to our Cruiser model is the introduction of additional color options. The Cobra comes in a sleek carbon black or forest snake color.

Another difference lies in the four-bar suspension linkage system of the Cobra. The Cruisier does come with suspension, but it is only found in the front fork and not in both like locations like on the Cobra.

The Cobra has an extended life battery for more range than the Cruiser, so you can expect to travel about 20 miles further on the Cobra than the original Cruiser.

The Cobra’s brushless geared hub motor has an upgraded inner ring with better heat dissipation for more variable riding conditions. The Cruiser has the previous model of the geared hub motor.

The Cobra has hydraulic disc brakes while the Cruiser and Escape both come with mechanical disc brakes. Disc brakes are commonly used in the e-bike industry and may suit your needs just fine. But for those needing a little extra stopping power, the Cobra will be the way to go.

Finally, unlike the Cruiser or Escape, the Himiway Cobra comes with 4.8-inch tires as opposed to the 4-inch tires on our original models. Not everyone needs fatter tires than the Cruiser’s, but if traction and comfort are of importance to your ride, you will prefer the Cobra.

You can’t go wrong with the Himiway Cruiser, but for the smoothest ride on the mountain, the offroad enthusiast vote goes to the Himiway Cobra.

Of course, there are many differences between these two bikes, but one important similarity shared by all our bikes – the warranty! No review would be complete without examining the details of the warranty of the product. Just like the Cruisier, the new Himiway Cobra, as well as all our new e-bikes, come with a 2 year warranty so you can ride with confidence this season.
