The holidays are in full swing, and everyone is busy preparing for Christmas with family or Hanukkah with their loved ones, as well as the New Year! There are presents to buy, dinners to plan, cards to send, and decorations to put up. It is a time to cherish our loved ones, our health, and whatever good fortune may have found its way into our lives over the past 12 months. Even as the pandemic continues to drag on, it is important to remain grateful and in good spirits, despite the difficulties, we are all experiencing.

With so many good and bad distractions, it can be easy to forget to sit back and enjoy this cheerful time of year. Well, rest easy because we’ve got a few ideas on how to spend your holiday in 2021. Don’t let another year go by in the blink of an eye. This year can be the most memorable holiday season yet by planning to make the most of your Christmas break now.

Riding E-bikes

One of our favorite activities all year round is, of course, riding e-bikes! But how can someone that doesn’t eat, sleep, and breathe e-bikes as we do get in a ride around the holidays? Simple…

Oftentimes, we have the best intentions to eat well, exercise more, and spend time with loved ones during our Christmas break, but our days off come and go and we usually only managed one or two visits and maybe a dinner with everyone if we are lucky. This year, schedule out your break a few weeks in advance and message your friends or family you may want to go riding with too. Putting a short ride on the calendar will provide a bit of inertia for your plans when you otherwise may be inclined to stay home and watch tv.

Instead of binging a streaming show or sleeping in late, find a day you can go out for an early evening to move your body, feel the crisp, cool air on your face, and maintain social distancing all while you burn off those holiday calories on your electric bike. A simple ride around the neighborhood to view the holiday lights can be fun for the whole family. If you haven’t yet checked out our new lineup of electric bicycles, there may be the perfect option to purchase for yourself or a family member.

Ice Skating

If it’s too cold or dark to go biking on a particular day, schedule an afternoon at the ice-skating rink. This activity will also provide plenty of social distancing, exercise, and laughs with the family. You may find a nearby rink set up with lights and Christmas trees where you can rent skates, or you may be able to use a frozen pond. Grab a few friends and prep some hot chocolate for after the skate. Everyone will be cheerful and glad that you asked them to join such a fun holiday activity.

Outdoor Party

Another way to make the most of Xmas 2021 is by throwing an outdoor party. If the weather is mild enough or you have a fire pit, consider inviting some friends over for a small get-together to keep the celebrations going. Set up some chairs, grab a few blankets, and make sure the coffee or hot cocoa is warm.

Lovely Light Display

There is nothing more magical than an entire neighborhood or downtown covered in a festive light display. Children, especially, will love seeing all the sparkling Christmas lights on a snowy night. Snowmen and Santa Claus’s reindeer and candy canes are all the perfect decorations outside in your front yard and will add to the Christmas spirit in the neighborhood. If you live in an apartment, consider adding lights around your fence or patio door wall. Your neighbors will love seeing them just as much as you will. It may even be a moment to bond with new people and meet new friends which is what the holiday season is all about.

Apply for Work Placements or Set New Goals

A final way to make the most out of your Christmas break is to consider how you will advance your skills, career, or qualifications. Many companies use the New Year to begin looking for new candidates for exciting new opportunities. Get a head start on the job hunt by sprucing up your resume, taking an online class, or going for a certification in a field you are interested in.

This might even include preparing for an internship if you are in school or planning which college or trade school you might want to go to. The holidays have always been a great time to be productive because the New Year brings a fresh perspective on time and how we use it. If there was something you didn’t get to this past year, use the momentum of the Christmas holiday to get a jump start on your goals for 2022.

One of those goals might be to get outside more, exercise, or spend more time with friends and family. Of course, we recommend an e-bike for all of these activities thanks to the many health benefits, but there are plenty of other ways to enjoy these things as well. We here at Himiway are happy to be an inspiration for health, happiness, and the pursuit of progress in whatever form you choose.

So, this holiday, use your time wisely by riding bikes with friends, ice skating with family, entertaining your favorite people, putting on or visiting a light display, or simply planning your next work step.

Don’t forget about all our special holiday deals as well as the exciting launch of our 4 new electric bikes. You can give the gift of mobility to yourself with one of our long-range e-bikes. But don’t worry, we are happy to be a part of your holiday season, even if you just enjoy our blog. The spirit of giving takes many forms, and we hope this regular content for e-bike lovers around the world gives you much joy.

Cheers to Christmas with family and Happy Holidays from all of us here at Himiway!
