Himiway D5 ^2.0 Camo eBike Blend In, Ride Out: The Top Choice for Hunting

Received the D5 2.0 2 days after Christmas. It arrived in good condition, the bike was so well packed that i think a truck could had hit the box and it would had survived. Did not need instructions to assemble, it was pretty straightforward. I have a D3 Cruiser with over 300 miles on it, so i am quite familiar with these bikes. It took a little over 35 minutes to assemble, and assembly was accomplished with the Himiway tool, a 15mm wrench, and small adjustable wrench. Once i verified air pressure and charged the battery, i took it for a ride. The soft tail suspension is a game changer. It rode easily thru grass, and of course it was smooth on the road. I like the new color computer design, and the factory thumb-controlled throttle. I had converted the throttle on my D3 from the twist-type to thumb control, it is a lot more comfortable on the hand, and safer, as you won't accidentally actuate the throttle when gripping the handlebar. We use our Himiways on off road fishing trips where the terrain can be quite rough with rocks and small holes. Compared to my D3, which does a decent job with the front suspension, It will be nice having the rear suspension to navigate the rough terrain. I included a video below comparing my D3 to the D5 2.0, and the use case for our Himiways. Can't wait to get this bike out in the wild on excursions.

Received Bike for Christmas - very well packaged, instructions were easy to follow, bike was assembled in less than an hour, case with spare nuts and bolts a welcome addition.

After assembly test rode for a mile on a few good inclines in Torque mode, bike climbed hills easily.

Next ride was 20 miles in class 2 eco+ cadence mode. The full suspension ride is very smooth, and quiet. Bike is sturdy and built well, power delivery with throttle or peddles is consistent and smooth. The larger seat was comfortable for the ride and bike handles different terrains well, ride consisted of wet grass, mud, gravel, concrete and paved road.

First and foremost: Not extremely happy with the carrier. The bike was promised many days before arrival. Made myself available to receive package with a no show. Package arrived in ok condition. Some damages to box but nothing internal. Bike was packaged very well and everything was secure. Removal somewhat of a challenge but worth the effort as contents secure and not damaged. Assembly was straightforward as the technical parts are reassembled. The bike is heavy and battery removal will reduce weight. With that said manual states that keys for battery removal attached to handle bars. That was not the case in this situation as keys were found when bike was turned over to accept the front wheel so battery was left installed after that point. Some additional help may be required in assembly more because of weight and awkwardness when turning it upside down. Rest of assembly was self explanatory. Impressed with the new sleek screen. The handle bar adjustments provide much better fit to rider. Bike quality seems awesome. I don’t like the throttle on the left side as my other bikes are on the right similar to motorcycles and such. May be a learning curve there. Battery currently charging. Looking forward to my maiden journey. More to follow?

Now here is a smooth ride on all these mountain trails. This is my third bike by this company and it’s fantastic. I love the step through version as I am getting older. It is harder to get on a bike that’s not a step through. I appreciate all the technology and the new brake lights and blinkers that are in bike. If you’re on the fence, get off it and come to the other side.

Bike arrived just a few days after I ordered it. Packaging was spot-on and assembly was straightforward—except for the tiny front light screw. For whatever reason, that thing would not thread into the bracket. After 30 minutes of fighting it, I moved on. Not a big deal, but worth noting.

Once assembled, the bike is a stunner. Total head-turner.

I took it to Vegas over the break and figured the Red Rock area would be the perfect place to break it in. I overshot my skill level right out of the gate and ended up in a small town called Blue Diamond—honestly, it should’ve been called Black Diamond or Double Black Diamond based on the trail I wound up on. Treacherous for a first ride, no question. But it was one hell of a test for the bike.

Handling was impressive. Easy to control, soaked up the bumps, and powered over just about everything the trail threw at it. Toward the end, I went down a steep section, hit a large rock, and the front tire basically exploded. I don’t blame the bike for that one. Luckily, I was only half a mile from town and walked it in.

I’m looking forward to dialing in the suspension to see if I can get a softer setup. Top speed capped at 21 mph for me—I’d love a little more juice—but overall the bike performed extremely well.

Himiway makes a solid product, and I genuinely enjoyed putting this one through its paces.

Absolutely the quietest bike I have ever ridden. I took this bike in on a hunt. Drove it to within 50 yards of the stand, parked it and got situated for the evening. Deer never knew that I was there. Was able to take a doe home with me that evening. If you are looking for that extra edge when traveling to your deer stand, the Himiway D5 2.0 is the bike you can count on to get the job done. Battery life is an issue but hopefully it can be resolved soon to make this the BEST bike I have ever purchased.

My wife got a Himiway bike a few years back, and I went with a different brand. I always loved her bike and honestly wished I’d gone with Himiway too—the quality, the way it was put together, and how smoothly it rode. So I finally decided to invest in a new one for myself, and when I saw the Camo D5 2.0, I knew it was the one.

I seriously can’t say enough about this bike. From the moment it arrived, I was impressed. It was packaged extremely well and protected, and assembly was a breeze. The build quality is fantastic, it looks amazing, and the ride… absolutely the smoothest I’ve ever experienced. All I could say was “Wow!”

I definitely recommend this bike 100%. You won’t be disappointed!

I ordered the trailer as well but hasn’t arrived yet! Will update once that comes in and I can try it out!

I have had 3 new Himiways in the last 10 months.

1- Big Dog. This was a very nice bike and liked it very well. Put 3000 miles on it.

2- The new A7. This bike bike was even nicer and easier to control for a senior. Very forgiving and comfortable. Put 900 miles on it. 26 inch wheels are better for my weight and height.

3- The new D2 0.2. Himiway hit it out of the park with this one. Rear suspension is much better than the A7. Comfort of ride, ease of control and handler bar adjustments are top notch. I like the fat tire ride better than the narrower A7. I am very impressed and the D5 0.2 checks all the boxes for being the best ride I have ever had. I put on 25-30 miles daily. Thank you for the chance to test the A7 and the D5 0.2. I have no complaints on performance and quality. Shipping was 2 months to the day after payment but I do hope this was not normal or expected by anyone. Thank You,, Jim Lola

The Himiway D5 2.0 is a great upgrade! This bike has a super comfortable seat and riding position right of the box! With the ability to adapt it to you own personal preferences. The Torque sensing pedal assist is a game changer, making this bike effortless to maintain speeds, and assist levels. The full suspension makes all the difference for longer rides, and for riding in the back country. The display is easy to read and user friendly. I can't say enough about Himiway E-bikes, and the D5 2.0 is another improvement! The price is also extremely fair, when you consider what you get.
