Bafang has officially announced the production versions of its highly anticipated high-performance racing e-MTB drive systems: the M510RS and M560RS. First shown as concepts, these new mid-drive motors feature integrated 6-axis Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), optimized control algorithms, and a new Boost-to-Limit function that delivers up to 800% pedal assistance and 1,700W of peak power.
The production systems are making their public debut at the International Bike Festival (IBF) in Italy.

Key Technology Upgrades
Intelligent Power Delivery
Built-in 6-axis IMUs continuously monitor the bicycle's pitch and terrain. This allows the updated Sport+ mode to adapt assistance fluidly, making power delivery feel more intuitive.
Rapid System Responsiveness
The RS line responds 50% faster than the standard M510 and M560 motors and delivers a 33% more sensitive power cut-off for improved rider safety and traction control.
Boost-to-Limit Support
Cyclists can temporarily unlock up to 800% assistance on demand, providing additional power for particularly steep climbs and challenging terrain.
Enhanced Trail Features
The new systems include integrated Hill Hold, which helps prevent the bike from rolling backward during steep starts, along with an upgraded Walk Assist 2.0.
Drop-In Manufacturing
Frame builders do not need to redesign existing bicycle frames because the RS variants use the same mounting footprints as the previous M510 and M560 generations.
