D5 Rider Reviews
960Wh Samsung/LG Lithium-ion Battery
It combines the new Samsung/LG battery technology with a 5000mAh single cell capacity in a smaller size but with larger diversity. Compared with 3500mAh cells made of nickel, cobalt, and manganese, this 960Wh battery efficiently improves the range, stability, and safety of Himiway bikes. A single charge can last up to 60 miles on pure electric power and 80+ miles with pedal assist. The battery will maintain 80% capacity after 1000 charges.

Realistic data concerning battery life. I have a 21.5 mile path I've been doing for 5 years on a regular mountain bike. The path consists of up/down hills and flats, total elevation change is 574 feet. I decided to get an e-bike to help on the up hills, now that I'm 68 years old.
I changed the Pedal Assist settings to be 1-16, 2-32, 3-48, 4-64, 5-80 and the top speed to be 25.8 MPH. I only use Pedal Assist 1 on up hills, down hills and flats the pedal assist is 0 (bike is easy enough to pedal with no power for me), always use gear 7. I do want a workout exercise wise to keep the heart-rate elevated, similar to using the regular mountain bike. I've taken the path 3 times now and have only used one bar of battery on the display meter (that's a total of 64.5 miles on one bar). At this rate I would be able to go a long way on one charge by being conservative with the motor's use.
Things I enjoy about the D25: easy to ride and control, the pedals are metal not plastic, the throttle is a thumb trigger vice grip roll.
Things don't care for: seat very uncomfortable and the seat post is welded to seat (to replace need seat and seat post) which has been done (why it only gets 4 stars), reach to handlebars not comfortable on wrist so added extender.
Did a lot of on-line comparisons of e-bikes, wanted one for modest trails that has fat tires and decided on the D25 Zebra becuz of the motor, battery life and looks. With modifications made, absolutely love the e-bike and would recommend to…

The bike was simple to assemble, and the grey color is beautiful, it is well built and feels sturdy. The downside is that I cannot get past 14 mph on this bike and as an urban street rider it feels dangerous to me. with the hilly terrain pedaling is tedious and feels even more sluggish laying on the throttle is not what I wanted in a bike. I am still trying to find ways to adjust the settings for a smoother ride but so far nothing.

54.3 miles this past week-end on the Suwannee Greenway Bike Trail. Our D5's give us the best rides! My wife has over 500 miles on hers. You cannot go wrong with a Himiway D5 ST!!!

Last night, I decided to drain the battery,
I first rode behind the Twence waste processor and (secretly) took the footpaths, as there are no pedestrians in the evening, but I did see a beautiful piece of nature (captured in video and photos). I just wanted to experience the battery's endurance for myself. The specifications indicated 125 km, while some mentioned 130 km. I wanted to find out. I rode the last 5 km around my house and yes... at 129.8 km, the assistance cut out. I could still turn on the lights, though. Now I know that when the last bar starts blinking, I still have about 15 to 20 km of support left — the 'reserve tank' in motorbike terms. That's what I wanted to understand.
I know that initially, you need to drain the battery at least 5 times until the assistance stops, after which you can do it at your discretion when it blinks. It's battery training for a longer 'lifespan' of the battery. I had already done this with the Flyer T7 (which I still have), and the Flyer dealer was surprised at how long I used a single battery.
I usually bike around 22 km/h in the 3rd assistance level. I only switch to the 5th assistance level for viaducts or small hills.
How was it to pedal without assistance? It wasn't too bad; the Shimano gears are excellent for control, but it felt like having a brake parachute 🙈😅 After all, the bike weighs 35 kg.

We ordered a total of 4 bikes and accessories. Two of the bikes arrived quickly within a week of ordering. The other 2 bikes got held up due to tarrif shipment issues. Customer service specifically “Leo” worked with me to redirect shipment of one of the bikes due to the extended shipping time. All of our bikes arrived in good condition. So far we have had a positive experience with the Himiway customer service crew. We look forward to using them as a family. We are riders from 19 yrs old to 65. The bikes are great so far. Our daughter bought the child / dog carrier and her old border collie is loving the rides…❤️

Last month in September I reviewed the Zebra step-through and Zebra step-over, which I purchased for my wife and me. Now we are about 200 miles on the odometer, riding almost daily and the bikes still look, feel, and perform like they did the first day. We are riding on the beach at the central coast of California, on the streets, and trails. The power of these bikes are more than sufficient, and truth be told we haven’t even needed to use full power yet. I will say this;..the the stock programmed 5-level power assist was just too “punchy” with power/speed than what we liked (could possibly make you lunge into something/someone in front of you), so I learned by reading the manual that you can re-program yourself to spread out the power levels from 5 levels to 9 levels, which is what we did. Now we have 9 different gradually ascending levels of power that smooths out the power delivery. You just push the plus (+) button until you reach the amount of assistance you need (3rd level) is about all we use. Again, very pleased with these bikes so far. I will write another review at 500 miles.
