Denver E-Bike Rebate Program 2026
The City and County of Denver's Climate Action, Sustainability & Resiliency (CASR) department provides an income-qualified e-bike rebate program that can be stacked with the statewide Colorado point-of-sale tax credit.

Note: Combined incentives can cover up to a maximum of 80% of the total bike cost before sales tax. For example, an $800 bike would receive a maximum rebate of $640.
Key Qualification Rules
- Income Cap: Standard Denver vouchers require a household income below the designated Area Median Income, such as:
- 1-person household: $98,100
- 2-person household: $112,100
- 3-person household: $126,100
If above the cap, you only qualify for the $225 Colorado state discount.
- Residency: Must provide proof of a City and County of Denver address, such as a driver's license, utility bill, or lease.
- Eligible Equipment: Class 1, 2, or 3 electric bicycles with motor output ≤ 750W, purchased from participating local bike shops. Full-suspension electric mountain bikes and gas-powered builds are excluded.
Application & Release Schedule
Vouchers are distributed online via the Denver CASR Submittable portal at 11:00 AM MT on scheduled release dates, typically opening every other month on Tuesdays on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Statewide CEO Lottery Window: August 24–August 31, 2026 — State CEO low-income lottery program, independent of Denver city vouchers.
Once approved, vouchers must be presented in person at a registered participating bike shop within 60 days of issuance to receive the instant point-of-sale deduction.
Denver E-Bike Rebate Program Eligibility
To qualify for the City and County of Denver E-Bike Rebate Program, applicants and equipment must meet specific eligibility criteria.
Applicant Eligibility
- Residency: Must be a resident of the City and County of Denver. Proof of address is required, such as a Colorado driver's license/ID, utility bill, lease, or mortgage statement.
- Age: Must be at least 16 years old at the time of application.
- Income Qualification: Rebates are targeted to income-qualified households falling below the Area Median Income (AMI). Qualification is proven via recent tax returns (Form 1040) or enrollment in assistance programs such as SNAP, WIC, LEAP, SSI, or CARE.
- Limit: One voucher per eligible individual. Rebates are non-transferable and not retroactive to past purchases.
Eligible Equipment & Purchase Rules
- E-Bike Type: Must be a new Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 electric bicycle, with a top motor-assisted speed of up to 20 mph or 28 mph.
- Motor & Safety Standards: Motor must be 750 watts or less, with operable pedals, and certified to standard safety benchmarks such as UL 2849 or EN 15194.
- Retailer Requirement: Must be redeemed in person at an authorized participating bike shop within the designated redemption window, usually 60–90 days.
Rebate Levels & Stacking
- Standard E-Bike: Up to $675 City voucher. It can be stacked with Colorado's $225 point-of-sale state tax credit for up to $900 total savings.
- Adaptive E-Bike: Higher tiers, up to $1,400 combined, are available for individuals with disabilities requiring customized adaptive equipment.
