Atlanta E-Bike Rebate 2026: Participating Bike Shops

The Atlanta E-Bike Rebate Program 2026 provides eligible City of Atlanta residents with rebates of up to $1,600 toward the purchase of an e-bike.

The Atlanta Regional Commission has partnered with the City of Atlanta and Propel ATL to offer the program, with a particular focus on making transportation more affordable for moderate- and low-income residents. The program is intended to reduce barriers to e-bike ownership, lower transportation costs, and help replace solo car trips for commuting, grocery shopping, and trips to local parks and recreation centers.

Atlanta E-Bike Rebate 2026 Application Dates

Applications open: September 8–22, 2026

City of Atlanta residents must submit an online application to be considered for a rebate. Applications must be submitted between Tuesday, September 8, 2026 and Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Submitting an application does not guarantee a rebate. The program expects the number of applicants to exceed the number of available rebates, so recipients will be selected through a randomized lottery.

Atlanta E-Bike Rebate Amounts

The program uses a point-of-sale rebate. Instead of purchasing an e-bike and applying for reimbursement afterward, the rebate is deducted directly from the price of the bike when you purchase it from a participating local bike shop.

Rebates are limited to one per eligible City of Atlanta resident.

How the Atlanta E-Bike Rebate Works

Point-of-sale rebates are available only to applicants who apply during the designated application period. You must receive your rebate before purchasing the e-bike. Rebates are not retroactive, so bikes purchased before receiving a rebate do not qualify.

The process works as follows:

1. Submit an Application

   Apply online between September 8 and September 22, 2026. Applications meeting the program requirements will be entered into the selection process.

2. Random Selection of Rebate Recipients

   Eligible applicants will be selected through a randomized lottery. Applying does not guarantee that you will receive a rebate.

3. Eligibility Verification

   Selected applicants must provide documentation verifying their date of birth, City of Atlanta residency, and household income.

4. Rebate Code Issued

   After the documentation has been reviewed and eligibility confirmed, the applicant will receive a rebate code.

5. Purchase Your E-Bike

   Recipients have 60 calendar days to redeem the rebate at a participating City of Atlanta e-bike retailer.

Atlanta E-Bike Rebate Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the 2026 program, you must:

• Be a City of Atlanta resident
• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a 2025 household income within the program's qualifying income thresholds
• Apply during the September 8–22, 2026 application period
• Complete eligibility verification if selected

If you were selected to receive a City of Atlanta e-bike rebate in a previous application round, you are not eligible to receive another rebate in future rounds.

Household size is based on the number of people living in the housing unit who are related by birth, marriage, or adoption. If selected, income documentation must be provided for each income-earning household member.

If you are claimed as a dependent on another person's most recent tax filing, you are considered part of that person's household for the purposes of the program.

Because rebate recipients have 60 calendar days to redeem their rebate, it is worth comparing participating shops before choosing an e-bike.

Contact the retailer and ask about:

• E-bikes currently available under the rebate program
• Prices after applying the $550, $1,100, or $1,600 rebate
• E-bike sizes and recommended rider heights
• Battery capacity and expected range
• Motor type and power
• Warranty coverage
• Assembly and setup
• Test rides
• Maintenance and repair services
• Replacement battery availability

Remember that the rebate is applied at the point of sale, so you do not need to pay the full qualifying purchase price and then wait for reimbursement.

Can I Buy an E-Bike Online With the Atlanta Rebate?

The program requires rebate recipients to redeem their rebate through a participating City of Atlanta e-bike retailer. You should therefore not assume that an e-bike purchased directly from an online retailer or manufacturer will qualify.

Before ordering any bike online, verify its eligibility with the Atlanta E-Bike Rebate Program. Purchasing an e-bike before receiving your rebate code will not qualify for a retroactive rebate.
