SENIOR EDITOR AT CLEANTECHNICA
: What do you like doing in your spare time?
: I love to hike, bike, and travel when I’m not plugging away at my computer. I also probably watch too much Netflix.
: Do you travel a lot? Where have you been?
: Before the pandemic, I travelled all over the world for business and pleasure. Since the pandemic hit, I have started taking more road trips to explore everything the United States has to offer in a safe way. I look forward to getting an electric utility vehicle or truck so my family and I can take all our gear and our bikes with us on our adventures.
: Do you have any other future adventures planned?
: When the Tesla Cybertruck comes out, I plan to take it out for a massive cross country road trip with as many people, gear and bikes as possible. I love how new products make new adventures easier and am always searching for new ways to share this with the world.
: What's your first impression of the brand-Himiway?
: Having put several hundred miles on the Himiway Cruiser, I immediately think about the impressive range and unparalleled power it put out. It seemed like I could ride forever on it, using the assist as much as I needed without putting a dent in the overall battery capacity. I loved that because it opened up tons of new possibilities for the bike. I strapped a basket to the back and brought groceries back from the store, took it on long rides with my friends along the beach, and no matter what I threw at it, it was still able to power up the last mile with ~1,000 feet of elevation gain at the end of the ride to get me home.
: Use 3 words to describe the bike.
: Cruiser: Powerful, Range, Durable Escape: Capable, Playful, Relaxing
: What do you like the most about the Himiway bike?
: When I think Himiway, I think about an excellent value electric bike platform with tons of range and power.
: How frequent do you use the Himiway bike?
: As a bike reviewer, I simply cannot spend more than a few hundred miles on any single bike as I constantly have new bikes I need to ride coming in. I have taken the Cruiser out for a number of rides around town and really love riding it down to my local coffee shop that’s about five miles away all downhill. It is a blast to rip down the hill on the bike knowing that it has plenty of power and range to power back uphill afterwards at nearly full power the entire way.
: Where do you usually ride? Can you share any nice cycling routes that you've been to?
: I live in Ventura, California. It’s a sunny beach town filled with surfers and generally well defined cycling routes. I have a number of routes around town that I love riding, but one of my favorites is to ride downtown and back home along the beachfront boardwalk in Ventura. It is relaxing and has a number of places that are excellent for watching the surf from.
: Are ebikes still good exercise? Some people said riding an ebike is cheating. What do you think?
: Electric bikes enable riders of all fitness levels to utilize a bicycle to commute, to run errands, and to have fun in new and exciting ways. They are a natural extension of what humans have done on bicycles for centuries and let us enjoy them for more years of our lives in more ways than ever before.
: What advice would you give to those who are considering getting a fat tire e-bike?
: Fat tire e-bikes are the ultimate electrified utility vehicles. They enable riders to get around comfortably and quickly while packing enough hauling capacity to bring along as much gear, groceries, or grub as needed. My advice to anyone considering one is to jump in! They are a ton of fun and will open your eyes to a completely new world of possibilities on two wheels.
